GSRTC Driver Recruitment 2026 Qualification

To apply for the GSRTC Driver position, candidates must meet the following mandatory educational and physical criteria:

• Educational Qualification: Must have passed Class 12 (10+2) or its equivalent from a recognized board.

• Computer Literacy: Basic knowledge of computer operations verified via a certificate/degree or studied as a subject in 10th/12th.

• Driving License & Experience:

  • For Men: Must hold a valid Heavy Transport Vehicle (HTV) / Heavy Goods Vehicle (HGV) driving license along with a Public Service Vehicle (PSV) Badge. The license must be at least 4 years old with 4 years of heavy vehicle driving experience.

  • For Women: Must possess a valid Heavy Driving License and Badge at the time of application (Prior driving experience is preferred but optional).

• Physical Standards (Height): Minimum 162 cm for Male candidates (160 cm for ST candidates) and minimum 158 cm for Female candidates.

Selection Process

The selection layout puts critical weight on the candidate’s real-world driving skill alongside foundational theory knowledge.

1. Written Examination (OMR Based): An objective-type test consisting of 100 marks. The score carries a 40% weightage toward final selection.

2. Practical Driving Test: Qualified candidates from the written tier undergo a detailed driving assessment carrying 50 marks (60% weightage towards final merit). Candidates must secure a minimum of 35 marks to pass.

3. Document Verification: Verification of educational marksheets, original driving licenses, RTO experience badges, and category certificates.

1. Go to the official online job registration system of Gujarat at ojas.gujarat.gov.in.

2. Click on the “Apply Online” tab on the homepage menu and choose “Apply”.

3. Select the department as GSRTC from the dropdown menu to view the active Driver advertisement.
