OPTCL Recruitment 2025: Odisha Power Transmission Corporation Limited (OPTCL), established on 29th March 2004, is a State owned Power Utility in Odisha. OPTCL has infrastructure that spans for about 16,700 CKT KMs of transmission line, encompassing a vast and robust transmission network of 198 sub-stations ranging from 132 kV to 400 kV.

OPTCL Assistant Technician Recruitment 2025 Essential Qualification

Candidate should have passed HSC Pass from recognized Board or equivalent and National Trade Certificate in Electrician Trade from institution recognized by SCTE & VT / NCVT with minimum 60% marks. For SC, ST and PwBD candidates, the minimum percentage of marks required is 50%.

OPTCL Junior Maintenance and Operator Trainee Recruitment 2025 Age Criteria

Candidate must not be under 18 (Eighteen) Years of age and must not be above 32 Years as on 01/05/2025.

Age Relaxation

The Age relaxation for SC / ST / SEBC, PwBD, Ex-Servicemen and Women candidate is given below-
A. The upper age limit is relaxable by 5 (five) years in case of SC, ST & SEBC candidates.
B. The upper age limit is relaxable by 5 (five) years in case of Woman candidates.
C. The upper age limit is relaxable by 10 (Ten) years in case of PwBD candidates.

  1. The selection process involves Computer Based Test (CBT) and Skill Test.
  2. Eligible candidates will be called for Computer Based Test, comprising 200 number of Multiple Choice Questions (MCQs). The CBT will be of Three (3) hours duration. The questions shall consist of-

Junior Maintenance & Operator Trainee (JMOT) Subject Domain Knowledge (80%), Numerical/ GK & Reasoning (10%) & English Knowledge (10%).
  • There will be 01 mark for each correct answer and negative marking of 0.25 marks for each wrong answer.
  • Candidates who qualify in CBT are shortlisted and called for Skill Test in the ratio of 1:3 in each category.

Application Fees

UR and SEBC candidates are required to pay a non-refundable fee of Rs.797/- (Rupees Seven Hundred and Ninety Seven) only and Candidates belonging to Scheduled Caste (SC) / Scheduled Tribe (ST) / Persons with Disabilities (PwBD) of Odisha are required to pay a non-refundable fee of Rs.443/- (Rupees Four Hundred and Forty Three) only.

The Computer Based Test (CBT) will be held at Bhubaneswar, Cuttack, Rourkela, Sambalpur, Berhampur, Balasore, Dhenkanal, etc. depending on the number of candidates from the respective zone. However, depending on the number of applicants, other cities of Odisha may be added or deducted. The candidates are to mention their choice of Test City at appropriate place in the Online Application Form.
